Data sources & methodology

Read the records, understand the estimates and check the limits.

Server records and freshness

The backend combines server discovery records, game-server query responses, stored history and curated fields. Names, descriptions, addresses and some settings originate with server operators or external discovery sources. They are not independent measurements of fairness, admin activity or anti-cheat quality.

Last seen means the most recent successful observation recorded for that server. Data fetched means the page retrieved a snapshot; it does not mean every record was probed at that time. Public lists may use a short cache, while the browser can fetch newer values. Missing data stays unknown rather than being presented as verified.

Player history

The text summary uses available samples within the preceding 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. Samples with invalid times, future times or missing player counts are excluded. Average is the arithmetic mean of sampled player counts, rounded to a whole player; peak and low are the largest and smallest samples.

This is not a time-weighted average or a continuous census. Missing intervals and changes in sample spacing affect the result. The sample count is shown so you can judge the available evidence. A high count does not prove server quality, and server-reported counts may be inaccurate.

Wipes and predictions

Wipe history records detected or curated reset events. A predicted next wipe may be inferred from historical cycles or set by an administrator. Predictions can be disrupted by updates, manual wipes and schedule changes. Confirm the current plan in the operator’s announcement or Discord.

A map wipe resets the world; a blueprint (BP) wipe resets learned recipes. We do not infer a BP wipe solely from a map reset. The Just wiped window is the preceding 24 hours; a calendar date is evaluated in the selected timezone.

Tags, networks and maps

Tags can come from available server metadata and curation. They are search aids, not a certification. Network membership identifies a listed association; it does not establish that RustSeek endorses the network. Conflicting or incomplete metadata should be reported rather than treated as proof.

A map preview uses the currently linked map data when available. Parsing or downloading can fail, and a server can change maps before its listing updates. A missing preview is not evidence that a server is offline.

Tools and game references

The raid calculator uses its configured damage and recipe tables to estimate whole-item requirements for selected targets. Gene calculations model combinations of entered genes; planting layout, timing and server changes still matter. These tools are references, not claims that every result has been tested in the current game build.

Compare game mechanics with the official Rust Wiki, Farming & Genetics and CCTV Camera reference. For updates and schedule exceptions, consult official Rust news. A reference link is not a partnership claim.
